Another Fantastic Experience at IWF-Norge in Bergen!
Training Courses included (but not limited to, as a ‘couple’ of rabbit holes had to be investigated). Day-1; Advanced Principles of Wadoryu, implementing into the complete Kaisetsu of Pinan Godan (no stone was left unturned). Day-2; Mutodori, Batto-Jutsu, etc. All Mutodori covered including the full applications of Batto-jutsu and practise. Day-3; Principles of Sanmi-ittai within our Wado Kihon-Gumite. Special thanks to Kjartan Stornes Kyoshi and John Ingebrigtsen Renshi for organising the event and for their generosity kind hospitality throughout the whole weekend. Bushi Dojo Wadoryu Course.
A fantastic response to the Bushi Wadoryu Karate Course, which occurred on the 24th of November 2024, at Bridgwater, Somerset. Many principles covered and a rabbit-hole [or two] got ventured down, but not deviating away [too much] from the main themes, etc.
Clubs involved with the course:
Bushi Wadoryu Karate (Chief Instructor Andrew Daly 7th Dan).
Yokai Karate (Chris Summers 6th Dan).
Pegasus Karate (Steve Hooper 6th Dan).
Momiji Dojo (Chief Instructor Stuart Richings 4th Dan Tashi).
Message from Sensei Andrew Daly. Thank you Sensei Gary Swift Hanshi for today's great WadoRyu Karate Course. We enjoyed it very much and learnt new skills. Also, big thanks to all Karateka who joined today's course.
NB. Special thanks to Andrew Daly 7th Dan for organising the event. Course Instructor; GE Swift Hanshi.

Latest 6th Kyū Promotions at the BWK-Honbu 15th November 2024
Examiner; GE Swift Hanshi.
Well done to Clara, Alex and Nikki for their very presentable 6th Kyū success. I am sure their promotions will inspire more students with confidence in their dedication and practise to continue within their own progression.

BWK Wado Advancement Course Part-1 at BWK-Horsham!
Good numbers for the recent BWK Advancement Standardisation Course, held at BWK-Horsham, on the 3rd of November. Very impressed with the turnout, especially to see so many junior and lower graded members attend this time. Everyone trained extremely well.
Special award of ‘Apprentice Pirate’… don’t ask, ;-) to Zac Clarke 9th Kyū for his ‘Junior Student of the Day’ Award, proposed by the Sensei of the club, Zac trained and concentrated very hard on the day.
A very special thanks to Sensei, Gordon Hoare Kyoshi, for his hard work and dedication with the arrangements (and use of his Dojo facilities), which was reflected in so many local [and not-so local] students attending, much appreciated.
Very often the lower grades, and especially junior students, can be sometimes put off by the intimidation of the thought of these 3-hour long courses; however, all Advancement Standardisation Courses cater for all grade levels and training ages.
Those in attendance included:
Ezra Miller Ikkyu, Chris Holland Nidan, Gordon Hoare Kyoshi, Michele Serra 7th Kyū, Jim Taylor Renshi, Ian Hunter Kyoshi, Andrew Bloomsfield 8th Kyū, Allen Kerr Ikkyū, Lily Downes 4th Kyū, Pippa McSharry 8th kyū, Zac Clarke 9th Kyū, Luke Webster 9th Kyū, Paul Webster 9th Kyū, Harvey Moss 9th Kyū, Mia Moss 9th Kyū, Ralphie Manger 8th Kyū, Victoria Manger 8th Kyū. Next course for BWK-Horsham, which will be the Advancement Course Part-2, will be in 2025 on the 2nd of February.

Ukemi. Many thanks to Ionel Cidu Sandan for being my Ukemi, throughout the whole course, much appreciated (hope the whelps, pressure-point bruises and pains from the partial dislocations have now subsided).
Time not on our side... again?! Only managed to get through just fewer than 50% of the full series of I-dori and Tanto-dori, so a Part-2 is being arranged for the [early] 2025 calendar. Another fantastic experience in Kefalonia for the 'Weekend Wadoryu Sunshine Course' hosted by Sensei Eleni Suzuki Kyoshi of the Suzuki-Ha Karate-do Wadoryu.
Many of the international exponents that visited stayed on to enjoy at least a one-week's holiday in the warm sunshine that the beautiful island offered. Due to the success of these courses we will be holding these on a regular basis, normally in late September/early October, each year.
